Design Idea - Designing with Dots
Use 1"x1" or 2"x2" tiles, called "dots", to add style and sophistication to any floor or wall. Setting them at an angle creates interest and helps draw the eye to the space. Brightly colored decorative dots can really add pizazz to terracota floors and extra flair to a brightly tiled walls. Planning on using large format flooring? You can even use 4"x4" tiles as dots in a large room with large format flooring as shown here.

Tile Tip
There are so many decisions to make when planning a tile project, and one item that is often last to be addressed is the size of the grout joints. Although it may seem insignificant, their size can make a huge impact on the appearance of the tiled surface. A standard 1/4" grout line will give the tiled area a smooth, even look. A very thin grout joint will showcase the softly rounded surface of the tiles, giving the installation more visual dimension.
