Yucatan Tile Dots Spice Up a Kitchen Backsplash

Yucatan Tile Dots Spice Up a Kitchen Backsplash

Use a few small hand-painted dots as

Pin It Yucatan Tile Dots Spice Up a Kitchen Backsplash

In this design, Spanish Teruel 1.5" x 1.5" Dots were used as accents for the Yucatan Chamois 4" x 4" field tile laid on-point. The 4"x4" bull-nosed tile were cut for the top trim, further reducing costs by avoiding more-costly trims.

Notice how the wall outlets don't mess up the decorative tile insets? The dots are used randomly to create subtle interest that doesn't clash with the granite or tile.

Yucatan Field Tile is a great choice for pairing with natural stone because it is hand-painted and the complex glaze is not a single color.

Design Tip: Always pick your countertop before the backsplash. Make sure the two complement each. Don't draw attention away from a stunning counter-top with a busy background. Or, if the countertop is plain or simple, then create a backsplash that is the focal point.
