Relief Cement Tile Offers Flexibility, Classic Style

Posted by William Buyok on

Relief cement tile are not commonly found here in the United States. Installations are often limited to monochromatic geometric patterns for pool decks, sidewalks, and utility room floors. These tiles and designs don't fully capture the stunning sculpture or clever subterfuge that you'll find in today's cement tile relief designs.

Relief Cement Tile Offers Flexibility, Classic Style

Although generally used as a flooring tile, these relief cement tiles are best-suited and most appreciated on a wall application where you are tempted to touch and feel the sculptured, textured design. Because the colored segments of all cement tile are hand-poured into a mold, changing or customizing colors is fairly easy once the mold has been created.

Square body cement tiles are quicker and easier to install than other tile products. The narrow grout line ensures that the classic geometry is maintained. If you are thinking of using Spanish-style pavers or terracotta for your floor, consider what you can do with textured and relief cement tile patterns.

Cement Tile Design Tip

Cement tile does an amazing job at impersonating terra cotta and clay tiles. In fact, its almost impossible for anybody to tell the difference once its installed. Cement tile also offers many advantages that other products do not, such as color customization options available from our Mission Cement Tile color palette. Further, because they are made of concrete, cement tiles are extremely durable. Cement tiles are also an eco-friendly green product since they are not kiln-fired.

Classic Spanish colonial tile, with its Moorish design, can also be seamlessly translated into a square body cement tile with the additional option of including a faux grout line. Choosing cement tile also allows you to customize colors, while using a traditional pattern to maintain a specific style.

Cement Tile Tip

Remember, although cement tile can be used outdoors, it cannot be used in frosty environments. If your project is located where frost or freezing temperatures are common, then we recommend using vitreous or porcelain tile for your project.
