Add some fun, texture and bold color to classic Portuguese tiles patterns with our Pillow Chiclet in Jungle Green. In this wall concept, the pillowed chiclet tile in Jungle green is laid on point using the Oporto 2" x 2" dots in the field. A bright white molding frames the wainscot with the Oporto 3" x 6" listello or border tile at the top. To add balance, Oporto 6" x 6" tiles run along the base.

Design Tip: Pillowed Tile

Our colorful Chiclet tiles have soft, round pillowed edges on all four sides. They are a great in adding visual interest using field tile, and because they are hand-painted and textured, the glaze features subtle shade variations that work perfectly with hand-painted decorative tiles. Because of their shape, pillowed tile are best for use walls, backsplashes, or on small non-functional counters.

Design Tip: Tile Finishes

The glossy over-glaze on the Portuguese tiles work well the shiny glaze on the Pillow Chiclet tiles. Generally, it's best to keep tile finishes the same. For example, you could pair gloss finishes with gloss finishes; matte finishes with matte finishes. Of course, the only exception to this rule is if you want to set-off a special area, such as a mural or backsplash. The contrast in finishes will help draw attention and define the area.
