Monochromatic Cement Tile Fireplace

Gray and white tones in the cement tiles frame the fireplace and perfectly coordinate with the marble hearth and mantle.

Two colors from the Heritage Solid Color line of cement tile are used in this pattern:

  1. White
  2. Pearl Gray

Using a gray-scale color palette, or any other monochromatic color scheme, creates a look that is understated, yet beautiful. Consider a two-tone color scheme if you'd like to pair cement tile with natural stone, as shown here. Although not one piece will stand out over another, all aspects of the space work together to create a design that is seamless and cohesive.

In this design, a single row of Traditional Yuna cement tile in an 8" x 8" format frame the firebox. Yuna is a border pattern that includes corners. It is important to layout the design so no cutting of the horizontal pattern or run is required. Start by centering an 8" x 8" tile in the center of the firebox and running as close to the edge without cutting. The area between the firebox and patterned tiles is finished with a solid color cement tile in Pearl Gray, the same gray color in the patterned tile and also manufactured in an 8" x 8" format. The solid color tile is cut to the exact dimensions during the installation.

The Traditional Yuna cement tile is part of our "design line" and sample stock is generally not available for immediate shipment. However, patterns can be customized with any color from the Heritage Color Palette. After choosing colors, we recommend that a "strike-off" or sample be made to verify the design on the tile before final production. Strike-offs can be made and delivered in a few weeks and shipped directly to you from the factory. Avente provides a complete line of Cement Tile Design Services that will help a novice or seasoned architect or designer.
