Ordering Ceramic and Cement Tile from Avente

When ordering hand painted ceramic and cement tile from Avente, there is no minimum order. Shipping and handling charges do apply to all orders.

Ceramic and Cement Tile Availability

Sample orders generally ship the next business day. Typical delivery time frame is 5-7 days, if we have the product in stock. On large orders, or if the product is not in stock, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. If the product is not in stock, the item will be placed on backorder and we will notify you via e-mail. You will receive the item when it becomes available, your credit card is charged when the order ships.  However, you may cancel any item on backorder and receive a full refund for that item.

Ceramic and Cement Tile Color Variation

Each ceramic tile is hand-painted and slight variations in color will be apparent on each tile. Sample tiles are representative of the colors used, but there is variation from batch to batch and dye-lot to dye-lot.  The hand of the artist is part of what makes each tile unique.

Cement tiles are handmade with natural pigments and variation in color saturation and tone is apparent both in pattern and solid color tiles.  The blending of tiles will create a beautiful effect; but, if you look at each tile you will see the differences. 

Tile Quantity

We recommend that you buy approximately 10% more tile than required for your project. This will allow for any breakage that might occur during shipment or installation.

Avente Tile Conditions of Sale

All tile sold is subject to variation in shade. No allowance is made on tile after installation. There are no guarantees made against fine cracks, also known as crazing, that may develop in the surface glaze.  Use constitutes acceptance.

Avente Tile Handling Charge

All domestic orders have a handling charge of $15 OR pallet fee of $20 per pallet.

All international orders have a handling charge of $20 OR pallet fee of $25 per pallet.

All payments via wire transfer have a handling charge of $10.00.

International Ceramic and Cement Tile Orders

For all international ceramic and cement tile orders, customers are responsible for broker fees, taxes and customs and import duties of the destination country. Because these duties vary by country, Avente LLC cannot determine what these fees will be. For more information, please contact your local customs office or broker.

Ceramic and Cement Tile Return Policy

We hope you love your selection of ceramic and cement hand painted tiles. If for any reason you wish to send them back, we accept returns within 30 days of receipt of the package.

All returned ceramic and cement tile merchandise is subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. We regret that shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable. To return merchandise, you must follow the following guidelines:

  • Absolutely no returns made on special order, made-to-order, or custom order tiles.
  • All merchandise must be returned within 30 days of receipt of your order.
  • You must contact us at 888.739.4972 or e-mail us at info@aventellc.com to obtain an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  • Items returned to us without an RMA will not be accepted.
  • Be sure to note the returned items on your original packing slip or invoice and include it with your shipment.
  • Return the product to the address below via UPS, FedEx or USPS. Please keep your receipt should you need to track your package. Remember to insure it for full value. You are responsible for return shipping costs.

  • You will receive your refund within 7 - 10 business days after receipt of the returned merchandise.

In the event we ship incorrect material or fail to ship any portion of your order, you must notify us within 30 days of receipt of the package. Replacement items will be shipped via the same method the items were originally shipped at no cost. If an item was shipped in error, we will refund you the total amount of your order.

Sales Tax on Avente Orders

Avente LLC collects sales tax for hand painted ceramic tile and cement tile being shipped to California. Because we do not have a presence in any other state, we are not required to collect sales tax in those states.  Sales tax is charged on all merchandise shipped in to a location in California.  Additionally, services like renderings, custom molds, and custom color matches are are subject to California state sales because they are considered production tooling produced and used for the manufacture of a final product,  Shipping by third party freight companies is not taxed on any order.

The tax rate for ceramic and cement tile orders shipped to California will be one of two rates, based on where you take title of the merchandise (shipping or pick-up location).  Effective July 2017, these are the current tax rates:

Shipping Your Ceramic or Cement Tile Order

Avente offers both standard and rush shipping for ceramic and cement tile orders: items sent via standard shipping will arrive in 5 - 7 days; rush items will arrive in 3 - 5 days.

If an item is out of stock or if the order exceeds available stock, we will notify you of the expected ship date.

Most products are shipped via UPS Ground. Other methods of shipment are available at your request.

Large orders over 100 pounds are shipped LTL (Less Than Truckload) common carrier using the best carrier available.

Due to the weight and brittle nature of tile, extra care is given to packaging.

How to Receive Freight - Graphical Checklist

When receiving freight, it is your responsibility to always:

 

  • Please open all boxes immediately and check for contents and damage.
  • Do not accept the shipment if the contents are damaged.
  • If the packaging appears damaged on the outside, please refuse to accept it from the carrier, or please make sure that when you sign the shippers proof-of-delivery slip that you include a note stating that the package is or appears damaged.
  • If you do accept a damaged shipment, please inform us immediately, but it will be your responsibility to deal with the carrier in that case. You must notify us of any damage or problems within three days of receipt.

Claims for Damage on Ceramic and Cement Tile Shipments

For delays, damages or loss in transit, all claims must be made directly to the transportation or freight company. Avente LLC tendered the shipment in good condition to the transportation or freight company. Avente LLC can assist you with the claim; but, we are not responsible for the damage.
