Spanish Kitchen Backsplash with San Jose Quarter Tile

Posted by William Buyok on

Create an eye-catching kitchen backsplash with our vibrant San Jose series of hand-painted Spanish tile.

For this Mediterranean look, the designer chose the San Jose Quarter 6" x 6" tiles, from our Barcelona collection, in a repeating pattern.

Large decorative tiles make a huge impact when used as a backsplash. Choosing a tile that has a similar color to the countertops and walls can help tie-in the overall design of the room.

For a bold contrast, we suggest bordering the tiled area with a brightly colored quarter round or liner tile, such as our Yucatan Ceramic Field Tile collection.

Design Tip

Quarter designs require four tiles to make the complete pattern. They are often scaled versions of smaller tiles in the same colorway and pattern. Additionally, quarter design tiles generally have more negative space, and are ideal for creating a patterned mural for large wall installations.

Our hand-painted Spanish ceramic tile designs include borders, corners, large decorative tiles and accent dots. These versatile collections, with their stunning colors, create a timeless look that blend well with hand-painted Spanish Field Ceramic Tile, created specifically to complement the color schemes available in our Hand-Painted Spanish Ceramic Tile line. Consider using the field tiles for kitchens, bathrooms, warm weather pools and fountains.
