Ceramic Tile Design Ideas — Backsplash/Wall

The Cadiz 4"x 4" Spanish tile is used for decorative for a Shower Bench. To further complement the single row of Cadiz near the top of the shower stall, this shower bench was tiled with the same decorative pieces.The contrasting bench helps to provide a break in the blue shower walls and floor.

The Portugese Braganza 3" x 6" are hand painted with vivid blue, green and yellow hues and are guaranteed to brighten up any space. Used here on a kitchen bar, the leaf design on the tile creates a simple elegance.  The smaller tiles placed on the diagonal add visual appeal.

Mix the traditional sensibilities of yesterday with colorful field tile to create a unique and custom look. The colorful Portuguese Braganza tiles were placed in a row on the diagonal to create a striking backspalsh for this bathroom vanity. A unique contemporary look was achieved by mixing Old World Style on a neutral background with occasional bright colors of solid field tile to complement the Braganza colors.

Spanish Lugo 3 "x 6" Spanish tile is a simple, yet beautiful leaf pattern of the Iberica Lugo creates a timeless look with subtle, Spanish style. To add appeal, the tiles within the border were placed on the diagonal and four 3"x3" Lugo tiles were grouped together to produce diamond accents along the length of the bar.

The Burgos 6"x 6" Spanish tile (double border) is the focal point when paired with lighter willow-green field tiles.   The brushed field tile works well with hand-painted decorative tiles because different color values held in both tiles.This makes a "wainscoting" for a bathroom.  Simplify the design by removing the cornice or rope for a kitchen backsplash.
