How They Are Made
Cement Flooring Tiles are hand made using a 150-year old method that involves a mold, die and a hydraulic press.

Made up of three layers, these dense flooring tiles measure just under an inch and are quite heavy. The top decorative layer is created by placing a sectioned die at the bottom of a square mold and pouring a color cement mixture made from marble powder, white Portland cement, and mineral based pigments into each corresponding section of the die. The middle layer, composed of grey Portland cement and fine sand, creates a bond between the color layer and the body of the tile. The bottom layer, made from fine and regular cement, sand and limestone powder creates the strong tile body.

After the three layers have been poured, 4,000 pounds of hydraulic pressure is applied to the Cement Flooring Tile, pressing it into shape and drawing moisture from the colored layer. The tile is then cured underwater to create an extremely durable product.

Care & Maintenance
Cement Flooring Tile is fairly simple to care for and maintain. A little maintenance will extend the life and enhance the beauty of your floors for years to come. Because cement tiles are a natural stone product, they are porous in nature and should be sealed to avoid staining. Sealer should be applied using a sponge per the manufacturer's instructions. To regularly clean cement flooring tiles, simply mop with warm water and if needed, a mild soap. Never use a cleaning solution with acid as it will damage your floor.
