Hexagonal Cement Tiles in Custom Colors are a Delight

Posted by William Buyok on

Hexagonal tiles continue to inspire design! The sexy, six-sided polygon is perhaps more popular now than ever before. This is especially true in cement tiles where bespoke color placement on patterns provide delightful designs that are creative, sophisticated, interesting, and fun. Here's a few of the latest custom hexagonal cement tile designs that have passed through our doors.

Hexagon Tile Patterns

Considered both timely and timeless, the Mission Hexagonal Cement Tile collection provides new-found appreciation and a fresh look using geometrical shapes. Ideal for interior and exterior design portfolios including both wall and floors.

Our Bakery Hex pattern is a great example of how flexible hexagonal patterns can be. Of course, you can also begin to see how fun, unique and different each installation can be. Not only can you customize the colors but the look by using a different layout or tile orientation. Our customer in New Orleans choose a random layout. However, take a look at some of the other options in the renderings. Pretty cool, indeed!

Create Unique Hexagonal Designs By Changing Pattern Colors

The design flexibility of cement tiles means you get to pick the color that speaks to you. It's your bespoke design! Consider blue, green and aqua for a bathroom. Choose red, orange and yellow for a bright, warm patio or sunroom, or opt for a more neutral palette, such as the one shown above for a wall. Below you can see a rendering of the same Agatha pattern, customized with green and neutral colors based on the customer's design choices.

Design trick: Use a patterned hexagon tile for rooms that aren't square or rectangular, are badly out of plumb or odd-shaped. The pattern and hexagon shape, when run to the edge of the room, hide all of the problems you'd have when using square or rectangular tile.

The renderings below were created for designer William Jurberg of Billy Blanco Designs in Miami, Florida. Avente created the renderings based on the designer's color choice. The renderings allowed the customer to choose two or three designs they really liked so that strike-offs or sample tiles could be produced. Once the strike-off tiles is approved, the order can be placed into production.
