Continuity in patterns offers both pleasure and comfort to the observer. In this case, the effortless look of fluidity is increased with the added interest of a repeat, alternating pattern of Spanish ceramic tiles. Each row of this staircase features one Spanish tile pattern. By implementing this design in your next project, you too will evoke interest with unexpected, rich bursts of color. The combination adds the right amount of color and still allows the bath area to look fresh and clean. Spanish field pairing a bold stripe or shape against a neutral tile, such as our Barcelona Field Ivory 6" x 6" shown here, is a great way to add rich color to a shower or bath without making it look too dark.

Using decorative tiles for a fireplace creates a dramatic, appealing look. The pattern on each tile blends with the existing backing material (brick, stucco, stone, etc.) to create a seamless design. Set on the diagonal, or on point, Teruel's effect is quite dramatic here.
