Cement Tile Provides a Warm Welcome
Posted by William Buyok on
When a customer requests a special size for their handmade cement tiles, we are more than happy to assist in meeting their design needs and special requests. In this case, the customer needed an 8"x8" tile size of the Gran Cordoba Cement Tile pattern for their residential hall and bath. Because this pattern is only available in a 10"x10" format, the cement tile factory created a custom 8"x8" mold. Of course, there was an additional charge for creating a new mold; however, the customer didn't mind the extra charge if it meant they would achieve their design goal. Further, rather...

Cement Tile: On-Point with Simplicity in Design
Posted by William Buyok on
A simple cement tile pattern creates a classic look for this resort bar. Patterns establish the mood of a room just like color. However, they add complexity to the design because they need to work effectively with color to maintain the mood and feel. Its more difficult to create an effective pattern and color palette than just choosing colors. Because the colored segments of all cement tile are hand-poured into a mold, changing or customizing colors is...

Cement Tile Pattern Makes an Elegant Floor
Posted by William Buyok on
The classic patterns of traditional cement tile floors add jaw-dropping beauty and sophisticated elegance, just like they did over a century ago. The use of five colors in this historical pattern and the classic "tile rug design" with a row of border tiles creates a formal style that is still comfortable. Fill the area outside of the rug with solid colors used in the pattern with our Mission Solid Color Cement Tiles. You can also change the colors used on this pattern using any of the sixty colors found in the Mission color palette. Photo credit: Original Mission Tile

The Macoris border and Neiba field patterns unite a common color palette to make a beautiful cement tile rug. Remember, while you can work with several different patterns to create a stunning look, the color scheme needs to be cohesive with your overall design. The most important part of any design is a cohesive and complementary color scheme. To create a cement tile rug, it's best to use a pattern design (field) with a border. Many patterns, like the Macoris, have a border; however, some may not, like the Nieba. Don't let this limit your choice for design! You can mix...
