A hand-painted mural is the focal point of any room. The Summer Harvest mural, shown here, certainly steals the show in this kitchen backsplash. The mural is 23" long and 8" high. The intricate details create artwork that is timely, lasting, beautiful and functional. Notice how well the hand-painted Spanish tiles work with the other surfaces and material in the room? The decorative tiles really add a splash of much-needed color to the room. Use hand-painted tiles for a decorative border along the edge of a counter or around a mirror, archway or door. Some tiles, like our Hand-Painted Barcelona Ceramic Tile borders come with a glazed edge so no trim is needed when used for a counter top. Decorative Spanish Ceramic Tile Inserts

Hand-painted decorative tiles add color and interest to any floor. They can be used with terracotta tiles, stone pavers, or with manufactured porcelain and ceramic floor tiles. In the installation shown here (left), a Barcelona San Jose 3" x 3" tile is placed "on point" in a notched floor tile. Remember, floor tiles will need to be cut and this will increase your installation cost. Also, you should increase the quantity of floor tile purchased by about 10% to 15%.
